Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Goa, on September 04, 2026, issued the Goa Special Courts (Land Grabbing) Bill, 2026.

The following has been stated: -

•The Goa Special Courts (Land Grabbing) Act, 2026 extends across Goa to set up designated Special Courts established from existing Courts of Session with full Magistrate powers to exclusively try illegal land grabbing cases. 

•The legislation broadly defines land grabbing to cover any unauthorized, forcible, or deceitful possession, leasing, or construction on land, extending liability to all associated acts and fraudulent documents. 

•Appeals regarding any convictions, sentences, or acquittals handed down by these Special Courts are routed directly to the High Court of Bombay at Goa. 

•Additionally, the statute empowers the State Government to resolve implementation difficulties while validating all prior consistent actions and proceedings as legally sound under the Act.

•It shall be deemed to have come into force on June 24, 2025.
